they do not provide legal advice –
that is the lawyer’s job.
Mediators are usually social
workers, lawyers, psychologist or
other professionals who are familiar
with Family Law. During family
mediation, the mediator listens to

each party and they assist the parties reach an agreement on the
issues (such as support payments, property division, custody and
access to the children and any other pertinent issues). Any
agreement reached through Mediation should be reviewed by a
lawyer before it is signed.
